The Global Technology (GT) team at Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) is on a multi-year journey to modernize technical and digital products and platforms across all business lines. This role demands a visionary leader with a technical understanding of the range of resort operations technical products in solving complex business challenges. Proven success as a leader in recruiting, developing, and retaining technical talent on high performing teams is required. Job Summary
Based at the Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) Corporate Office in Orlando, FL, the Assistant Vice President (AVP), Portfolio Governance is responsible for overseeing portfolio-level governance processes, ensuring alignment across teams and consistent application of Agile practices within the Agile Transformation Office.
This role ensures portfolio alignment with business objectives, optimizes resource allocations, and drives innovation across the portfolio. Key responsibilities include developing portfolio governance frameworks, leading cross-functional teams, managing Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), managing resource dependencies, and implementing governance standards across Agile Pods to enable efficient and effective delivery of business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in product management, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving successful product strategies.

Specific Expected Contributions
Portfolio Governance and Process Standardization
- Develops and maintains governance frameworks to ensure consistency across all Agile Pods.
- Establishes and enforces portfolio-level processes and standards, aligned with organizational goals.
- Monitors compliance with governance policies and recommend improvements as needed.
Leadership of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
- Plans, coordinates, and leads Quarterly Business Reviews, providing insights into portfolio performance and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities, and priorities during QBRs.
- Tracks and analyzes the performance of the business technical product portfolio, making data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Presents data-driven recommendations to enhance portfolio outcomes.
Portfolio Management & Resource Dependency Management
- Oversees product and platform portfolio, ensuring optimal resource allocation and prioritization of initiatives.
- Identifies, tracks, and manages resource dependencies across teams and initiatives to minimize risks and bottlenecks.
- Collaborates with team leads and stakeholders to resolve resource conflicts and optimize capacity planning.
- Ensures transparency of resource utilization and allocation at the portfolio level.
- Ensures business technical products and platforms comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with team leads, executives, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Acts as a liaison between the Delivery Office and other GT departments to foster collaboration and transparency.
- Provides regular updates on portfolio status, risks, and key decisions to leadership.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance governance practices and portfolio performance.
- Promotes innovation and adaptability within the governance processes to meet evolving business needs.
- Facilitates retrospectives and feedback sessions to identify and implement best practices.
- Performs other related tasks as appropriate.
Specific Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree, e.g., MBA or in Computer Science, preferred.
Certifications Preferred
- Certified SAFe Agilist, Portfolio/Program Management Professional (PfMP, PgMP) or similar certifications preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in portfolio management, governance, or Agile program management roles.
- Demonstrated experience in leading governance initiatives within an Agile environment.
- Experience in a multi-national, matrix structured organization preferred.
- Experience in Hotel Management, Vacation Ownership, or Hospitality preferred.
