Position SummaryAs a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Resort Operations, Sales & Marketing etc.) to support function and/or discipline objectives. Generally, works with a considerable degree of independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department in alignment with broader business objectives and direction from department leaders, producing and analyzing more complex business information to assist in the decision-making process.
The Associate Vice President (AVP), Asset Management has responsibility for managing day-to-day aspects of project/asset execution and the optimization of the operating plan to achieve stated business objectives against four strategic pillars -- financial, customer, process, and associate. The position is expected to initially focus approximately 75% on resorts, projects and assets located in Mexico, with approximately 25% focus on the West/Hawaii region, subject to change based on future developments, strategies and resource needs.
Scope may include (i) sold out resorts, (ii) projects just entering the delivery phase, (iii) small single-phase projects and complex mixed-use developments, (iv) joint ventures and other types of development partnerships, and (v) other single purpose owned or leased assets. This position reports to and collaborates with the SVP Global Asset Management, with a dotted line reporting to the VP Asset Management West and Hawaii Region (VPAM-WH) relative to matters in the West/HI region outside of Mexico.
For each assigned project, the AVP, Asset Management is required to have a broad, systemic understanding of all operating and financial aspects including contractual, legal and tax components. This knowledge is also applied to the optimization of sales inventory, working in collaboration with regional Inventory & Revenue Management (IRM) leaders. This position drives performance against stated objectives across processes within MVW (including Marketing & Sales, Resort Operations, HR, IRM, Owner Services, Development, Feasibility and the enabling processes) and with external parties including lenders.
The position will be based at MVW’s headquarters in Orlando, Florida, with travel as necessary to meet with assigned goals.
Expected Contributions- Provide support to the SVP Global Asset Management, and VPAM-WH in setting of overall business strategy for projects /assets assigned.
- Work with the SVP Global Asset Management and VPAM-WH to establish key project performance metrics for resorts, projects and assets in Mexico and in the West/Hawaii region.
- Lead cross-process teams to manage against execution of project plans to achieve stated performance objectives and measures.
- Manage risks and opportunities.
- Monitor project performance (operational and financial) on an ongoing basis; ensure early identification and resolution of risks / issues.
- Maintain project databases where relevant to ensure all project information and governance requirements are maintained.
- Understand MVW, partner, and lender reporting and contractual requirements, and ensure adherence thereto.
- Ensure adherence to all other requirements of JV and lender agreements.
- Prepare project updates for internal governance, including periodic presentation of financial updates related to MVW’s portfolio of resorts, projects and assets located in Mexico.
- Work closely with SVP Global Asset Management and VPAM-WH during annual business planning.
- Lead regular cross-process update meetings for resorts in Mexico, including representatives from Marketing & Sales, Resort Operations, IRM, Human Resources, Finance & Accounting and other departments to ensure alignment on key business issues and deliverables.
- Develops operating plans and workable business processes for own department in alignment with function strategy.

- Integrate approved changes into coordinated MVW business plans to enhance financial results.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Degree from an accredited university in business, finance or related major; proven experience in the areas of Finance and/or Asset Management.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years in a leadership role, with strong knowledge of project finance, construction activities, corporate tax, partnerships and real estate. An awareness of legal and environmental issues is preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish and English required.
- Extensive experience gained within MVW preferred.
- Experience with Mexico laws and regulations related to finance, labor/employment and taxation required.
- Solid experience in a leadership role with strong knowledge of project finance, strategic planning, construction activities, corporate tax, partnerships and real estate required; awareness of legal and environmental issues, preferred.
- Experience in timeshare with financial background an advantage.
- Strong project management skills demonstrated by experience in leading projects using a strong knowledge of planning, dealing with cross functional teams, and executing complex projects.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and balance priorities, work resources and activities for the benefit of multiple key stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, management, and communication skills required.
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen with proven analytical skills and an understanding of valuation theories and processes.
